ECLIPSE IMPROVES
U16s defeat NSA Premier Jaguars
The Eclipse Select Soccer Club's U-16 USYSA team defeated NSA Premier Jaguars, 2-0, on Friday in Midwest Regional League play at Nike Park in Naperville, Ill.
Morgan Egan (Naperville, Ill.) scored both goals for Eclipse Select, netting a goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half and an insurance goal seven minutes into the second half. Goalkeeper Katie Wilson (Frankfort, Ill.) kept a clean sheet.
With the win, Eclipse Select improved to 6-0-0 in the Girls U-16 Premier Division with 18 points, six points ahead of Futura Academy (4-2-0, 12 points). Eclipse Select has outscored its opponents 13-4 this season while posting four shutouts.
Eclipse Select also had four U-13 teams and one U-12 team competing in U-13 pre-Midwest Regional League play in Rockford over the weekend. Players were rotated among the rosters, with one Eclipse Select team posting a 3-0 record with 21 goals while allowing only two goals. Another Eclipse Select team among this group went 2-1 to finish second in its group. Eclipse Select's U-13 West Boys team also competed in Rockford.
ECNL games rescheduled for Nov. 4: Due to inclement weather, the Eclipse Select Elite Clubs National League teams' games against sister club FC Wisconsin Eclipse were postponed. The U-14 through U-18 Eclipse Select ECNL teams, who were originally to play on Sunday, will now face their Wisconsin counterparts on Sunday, Nov. 4, in Milwaukee.
