IT’S A SWEEP
Eclipse USYSA team takes three wins


The Eclipse Select Soccer Club's U-16 USYSA team posted a three-game sweep in Midwest Regional League play last weekend in Muscatine, Iowa.

The team posted a 1-0 victory against Lou Fusz-Wipke and a 5-3 win against Lou Fusz-Becher on Saturday, then capped off the weekend with a 1-0 win against Lou Fusz-Meyer.

In the five-goal performance against Lou Fusz-Becher, Eclipse Select's Sydney Griffin (Hinsdale, Ill.) scored two goals while Samantha Villwock (Lake Villa, Ill.), Riley Sykes (Gurnee, Ill.) and McKenzie Runyan (Lake Villa, Ill.) each added a goal.

With the sweep, the U-16 USYSA squad moves to 5-0-0 on the season, in first place in the Girls U-16 Premier Division. The team is five points ahead of second-place NSA Premier Jaguars (3-1-1, 10 points).

In other MRL play, the Eclipse Select U-16 East Girls team posted its first victory of the season with a 3-2 win against Sporting Benfica on Sunday in the Girls U-16 First Division Blue. The team also had a dramatic 1-1 draw against KC Blaze Blue Angels on Saturday as Tame Douglas (Chicago, Ill.) scored an equalizer in second-half stoppage time.
