Illinois Youth Soccer forms new competition
Illinois Youth Soccer has launched the Illinois Youth Soccer State Premiership Division a new state run competitive division for teams registered with IYSA member leagues.
This elite competition was designed to reduce costs and travel expenses for elite teams and allow the best teams in Illinois an opportunity to compete against the other top teams in the state while meeting the requirements for State Cup and Midwest Regional League (MRL).
Eight teams in the Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 & Under-18 age groups will make up the State Premiership Divisions. Boys teams will play April 1 - June 15. Girls will play August 15 - December 1. Teams will be selected based on applications and a resume that establishes a team's credentials to participate in the league.
Each team must be registered with an IYSA Member Competitive League: Central Illinois Youth Soccer League (CIYSL), Chicagoland Youth Soccer League, Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL), ILLOWA, Southern Illinois Soccer League (SISL), United Neighborhood Organization (UNO), Young Sportsmen's Soccer League (YSSL) for the upcoming season (Boys in Spring, Girls in Fall) .
The SPD Season will consist of Seven (7) games. One game per week will be scheduled.
