MAKING THE SHORT LIST
Lloyd, Rapinoe, Solo vie for women's world player
Three members of the world champion U.S. women's national team have been named to the short list for the 2015 FIFA womens world player of the year.
The 10-player list included Women's World Cup Golden Boot winner Carli Lloyd, midfielder Megan Rapinoe and goalkeeper Hope Solo.
U.S. national coach Jill Ellis, who directed the Americans to their third world championship was among the 10 coaches named to the women's coaching short list.
The winners will be announced in Zurich, Switzerland on Jan. 11.
