Some interesting stats about Carli Lloyd's, USA's goals

VANCOUVER -- Carli Lloyd’s three goals represent the first multi-goal game for a U.S. player in a World Cup final since Michelle Akers scored two goals against Norway in the USA’s 2-1 win in the 1991 Women's World Cup final in Guanzhou, China in 1991.

Lloyd's hat trick is only the second ever in a World Cup final. Geoff Hurst scored three for England in the 1966 World Cup final at Wembley against Germany.

Among some other statistics supplied by U.S. Soccer.:

* Lloyd is the third American to score a hat-trick in a Women's World after Carin Jennings Gabarra (three against Germany in the 1991 semfinals) and Akers (five against Chinese Taipei in ’91 quarterfinals)

* Lloyd became the first American to score in four straight Women's World Cup games.

* Her third-minute goal was the fastest goal ever in a Women's World Cup final.

* And the USA became the first team to score twice in the first five minutes of any Women's World Cup game.
