... American women will have 10-city victory tour

By Michael Lewis Editor

VANCOUVER -- If the U.S. women hoist the Women's World Cup trophy on Sunday, they will be rewarded with a 10-city victory tour, according to a source.

The Americans will vie for their third world championship against Japan at B.C. Place at 7 p.m. ET.

Two of the cities already have been named for the tour as the Americans will play Costa Rica in Pittsburgh on Aug. 16 and in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Aug. 19.

If the USA loses, it is expected to go on a six-game tour.

It was not immediately known which cities would be involved.

The team will receive bonuses if they win the crown, according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the players and U.S. Soccer. How much they will receive was not known.

The current CBA, which was ratified in 2013, runs through 2016.
