Copa America Centenario draw in NYC Feb. 21

CHICAGO -- The Copa America Centenario draw will take place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York at 7:30 p.m. ET Sunday, Feb. 21, the Copa America Centenario Local Organizing Committee announced Tuesday.

The draw will be televised live on Univision.

Copa America Centenario will welcome fans to attend and be part of the festivities at the official draw. Details on how to be selected will be shared later.

The event will feature former stars of the world’s game from around the hemisphere. At the draw, the four groups – headed by Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and the U.S. – will be filled out by the remaining 12 participating nations.

The seeding determination will be based on the December FIFA World Rankings. Details of groups and procedures for the draw will be announced in the days leading up to the event.

The competition will be held from June 3-26.
