SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Ajax America (West Conference) and F.C. Indiana (Midwest Conference) made statements in their respective conference races this past week in the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL). Two F.C. Indiana players were named to the WPSL Team of The Week: midfielder Fatima Leyva and defender Elisabetta Tona.
Friday afternoon Chicago traffic kept FCT3 from arriving to the match on time, and the bus legs were one obvious difference when FC Indiana downed FCT3 5-1.
"We had a dream start to the match, in spite of the bus trip and the lack of a proper warm up," noted head coach, Richard Drake.

FC Indiana Has Back-to Back Games This Weekend
GOSHEN, Ind. — FC Indiana women’s team, ranked third in the world, will encounter their first difficult stretch of games when they host last year’s Midwest Division Champion River Cities FC on Saturday at Kuntz Stadium in Indianapolis. Sunday, FC Indiana will then host FC St. Louis in Goshen.
However, the 4-1 final result certainly was not indicitive of the game as a whole. After going into halftime down 2-1, FCT3 pushed for the tying goal and had a good run of the play during the second half. Two goals in the last sixteen minutes for FC Indiana shut the door on any possible comeback.
