MLS PLAYOFF UPDATE
Fire is in


NEW YORK –The Chicago Fire have clinched a spot in the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs. A 2-0 win against the New York Red Bulls Saturday, paired with the Columbus Crew’s 1-1 tie against Sporting Kansas City Sunday, earned the Fire a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

Four teams are still in the running for the three remaining Eastern Conference playoff spots (DC United, New York Red Bulls, Houston Dynamo and the Columbus Crew).
Two teams, Vancouver Whitecaps and FC Dallas are still playing for one remaining Western Conference playoff berth.

The below teams have already secured a place in the 2012 MLS Cup Playoffs:

Western Conference
San Jose Earthquakes
Real Salt Lake
LA Galaxy
Seattle Sounders FC

Eastern Conference
Sporting Kansas City
