UIC's Stanisavljevic Offensive player of the week

INDIANAPOLIS–After collecting three points against non-conference foes DePaul and Ohio State, senior midfielder Ivan Stanisavljevic was named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week

Stanisavljevic collected points in each of UIC's matches last weekend. Against DePaul last Friday, he assisted on the Flames' second half goal that tied the game, and Sunday at Ohio State, he provided an insurance goal in the 83rd minute. The Flames went onto capture a 2-0 win over the Buckeyes, their third-straight victory over Ohio State dating back to the 2009 campaign. All five of his shots on the week were shots-on-goal.

“Ivan had a great impact offensively for us this weekend,” said head coach Sean Phillips. “Aside from the points, he helped us maintain possession at key times throughout the weekend. We are looking forward to his continued contributions to the team over the course of this season.”
