DEKALB, Ill. – One goal was enough to hand the No. 23 UIC Flames their first loss of the 2014 campaign Friday night. The Flames held off the Huskies through 74 minutes of the play before NIU scored the lone goal of the game.

UIC adds two women’s assistants

Julie Colhoff and Jamie Forbes have joined UIC as assistant women’s soccer coaches. The duo joins Brian Rigby and the newly-formed women’s soccer program before varsity competition begins in August of 2014. UIC Athletics announced the addition of women’s soccer in November of 2012 with the hiring of Rigby. Colhoff and Forbes each played four seasons in the Horizon League

CHICAGO -- The UIC men's soccer team kept its season alive Friday as it took down No. 5 Wright State, 1-0, at Flames Field in overtime to move on to the Horizon League Championship match set for Sunday at 2 p.m. CT. Senior Slobodan Aleksov netted the game-winner in the 93rd minute on the rebound save from his penalty kick attempt.

UIC tops UWGB 2-1, Looks to postseason

CHICAGO, Ill. – The UIC Flames are making history. At the end of the 2013 regular season campaign, the Flames (15-3-0) have set a club record for the most conference wins in a season, while winning the Horizon League outright with an undefeated 7-0-0 record. CHICAGO -- The UIC men’s soccer team honored its seniors Saturday by coming away with a 2-1 win against Green Bay at Flames Field for its 15th regular-season win, a program best. Sophomore Jorge Alvarez scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute as the Flames captured their ninth-straight win to end the regular season with an unblemished 7-0-0 Horizon League record.

CHICAGO -- The UIC men’s soccer team came away with its eighth consecutive victory Sunday after scoring two goals in the final 10 minutes of regulation to take a 3-1 win against Drake at Flames Field. Senior Aris Zafeiratos scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute, while senior Slobodan Aleksov recorded his fourth two-goal game of the season.

CHICAGO -- The UIC men’s soccer team endured its first overtime match of the season Tuesday evening at Flames Field while facing Eastern Illinois. After being down one goal, senior Slobodan Aleksov netted a pass from junior Jesus Torres in the 87th minute, and came back in double overtime to score again in the 104th minute to advance the Flames to a 2-1 victory over the Panthers.
