Hoosiers' Tanner Thompson first teamer for second time

Indiana Hoosier midfielder Tanner Thompson has been named to the NSCAA All-America first team for the second time. Thompson, a first-team in 2014 and a third-team designation last year, is the eighth player from Indiana to earn at least three All-America accolades, and the first since Pat Noonan in 2002. Thompson, a Loomis, Calif., native, scored eight goals (four game-winners) this season.

“Tanner joins an elite group of IU standouts to be named a three-time All-American,” IU coach Todd Yeagley said. “Tanner had an outstanding career at IU and will go down as one of our all-time special midfielders. We are proud of his accomplishments and his excellence on and off the field. We are excited for Tanner’s next chapter as he begins his professional career.”

Thompson, earned his third All-Region and All-Big Ten Conference first team selection and second Big Ten Midfielder of the Year honor.
