Indiana women fall 5-0 to Ohio State

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Tiffany Cameron scored two goals and assisted on two others as 25th-ranked Ohio State spoiled Indiana's Senior Night, with a 5-0 win at Armstrong Stadium.

Indiana falls to 9-9-1, (4-7 Big Ten) and must now wait until the end of Saturday’s game between Iowa and Wisconsin to determine if they will advance to the Big Ten Tournament. In order for the Hoosiers to advance, Iowa has to lose or tie against the Badgers in Iowa City. Ohio State improves to 13-4-1 (8-2-1 Big Ten).

The Hoosiers best opportunity to score came when Rebecca Candler broke in on goal on the right side and fired a shot towards the near post, but OSU keeper Jillian McVicker was there to deflect the ball over the endline. The other good scoring chance for IU came in the closing seconds when Tori Keller sent the corner kick in towards the near post and Kate McCusker’s deflection went right at the OSU keeper who hung on for the save.

The Buckeyes wasted little time getting on the board first, scoring in the third minute on Aly Walker’s third goal of the season, assisted by Megan Fuller on a corner kick. Then just over two minutes later they tacked on another goal, this one by Lauren Granberg who connected on a short cross from Cameron.

OSU was back at it just before halftime with a pair of goals less than a minute apart to make it 4-0 at intermission. In the 38th minute, Cameron scored the first of her two goals getting pass from Samantha Lewis, before dribbling into the area and finishing from eight yards out. Cameron then set up a tap in by Marissa Wolfe in the 39th minute.

Cameron made it 5-o in the 55th minute, scoring her 18th goal of the year after going in on a 2v1 with Indiana goalkeeper Shannon Flower.

Flower, who came in at the half, made one save. Hoosiers starter made four saves. The Buckeyes also spit the goalkeeping chores, with Jillian McVicker and Rachel Middleman each making two saves.
