Indiana women roll over Sycamores 3-1


BLOOMINGTON, Ind.--- Three different players scored as Indiana wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 3-1 win over Indiana State at on Wednesday night at Armstrong Stadium.

The Hoosiers have a 5-2-1 record as they begin Big Ten play on Saturday at Michigan. The Sycamores fall to 3-4-1.

The Hoosiers dominated the first half, outshooting ISU 13-1, but they went to the locker room with only a 1-0 lead thanks to Lisa Nouanesengsy's sixth goal of the season.

The Sycamores came out firing to start the second half and evened the score on a goal by Aubrie Musselman in the 47th minute.
Jessie Bujouves broke through for Indiana in the 77th minute, finding a loose ball in front and putting home her first collegiate goal to give IU the 2-1 lead.

To ice the game away in the 89th minute, Orianica Velasquez was pulled down from behind right in front of the six-yard box and was awarded a penalty kick. She regained her composure after the foul and blasted a shot with her left foot past diving ISU keeper Erin Mitchell .

Shannon Flower faced just five shots all night and made one save to pick up the win in goal for IU. Mitchell made eight saves as the Hoosiers finished with a 21-5 shots advantage.
