Hoosier women blanked by USF, 3-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –Sharla Passariello scored twice as the University of South Florida romped past the Indiana women 3-0 Friday night at Armstrong Stadium.

Indiana held the early momentum, but couldn’t penetrate the Bulls defense, and Passariello netted the game-winner in the 31st minute, after picking off a loose ball in the box. IN the 61st minute, she doubled USF’s lead with a perfectly-placed 25-yarder into the upper right corner of the net. Ana Paola Lopez delivered the coup de grace in the 75th, tipping a shot into the goal.

Orianica Velasquez paced Indiana with three shots while Kayleigh Steigerwalt collected a pair.

Shannon Flower made a season-high four saves in the game in goal as the Hoosiers fall to 2-1. USF improves to 2-1.
