BIG TEN HONORS
Indiana, Wisconsin share weekly spoils
PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Indiana and Wisconsin have earned Big Ten men’s soccer weekly honors,. Hoosier midfielder Jacob Bushue takes home Offensive Player of the Week accolades, while defender Caleb Konstanski earns Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors. Badger goalkeeper Chase Rau also earns the nod on the defensive end.
Bushue tallied his first goal of the season with a strike in the 71st minute that gave Indiana a 2-0 lead. He also played a part in the game-winning goal, flicking the ball on to Konstanski for the score.
Konstanski’s second goal of the season was also his first game winner. He gave Indiana a 1-0 lead over SIUE in the 56th minute, corralling the ball from Bushue on a play that began with a corner kick from A.J. Corrado. The center back also played a key defensive role in the Hoosiers’ fourth shutout in seven matches this season. Konstanski shares the defensive award with Wisconsin’s Chase Rau.
Rau posted shutouts versus Western Illinois (0-0) and IUPUI (2-0). Rau did not allow a goal in all 200 minutes of play last weekend, while making eight saves, four in each game
